Case story: A 19-year-old reliable machine

Mika Sormunen from our large, experienced reseller, Naficon, has spoken with Kennet Rönn and Stefan Smulter from Voimatel Oy – a nationwide installer in Finland within data network infrastructure. Kennet and Stefan share their experience of working with Fremco fiber blowing machines through the years, highlighting one in particular that has been running for almost 20 years! Despite its age, the machine still performs exceptionally well and is used regularly for both new installations and fiber network repairs.

Maintaining the machine remains easy and straightforward, even as an older model: “spare parts have always been available,” they note. When considering investments in machinery, evaluating the total cost of ownership is crucial.

And when asked if the machine has delivered a return on investment, they confirmed: “We can safely say that it was a good investment”. So, has the overall costs been reasonable for the older machine? The short, precise answer from Kennet and Stefan was: “Absolutely!”.
